How to make it

Safety

Pom poms are a choking hazard for under 3s, so keep them off the floor.

  1. Step 1: Trace a half circle
    1

    Trace a half circle

Trace half of a dinner plate on the cardstock and cut it out.

  2. Step 2: Decorate it flat

    Decorate it flat

Let your child cover it with stickers and glued pom poms while it's flat. A wobbly cone is hard to stick things on.

  3. Step 3: Roll the cone

    Roll the cone

Curl the half circle into a cone and tape the seam inside.

  4. Step 4: Cut a star

    Cut a star

Draw a star on yellow paper. Your child cuts it out.

  5. Step 5: Top the tree

    Top the tree

Tape the star to the point of the cone. Stand it on a shelf.

Edie's tip

Dot stickers are perfect ornaments and great pinching practice.
