How to make it

  1. Step 1: Trace the stars

    Trace the stars

    Trace about 24 stars, 8 of each color.

  2. Step 2: Cut them out

    Cut them out

    Cut around each star. Helpers can pre-cut some for anyone who'd rather glue.

  3. Step 3: Lay out the order

    Lay out the order

    Line the stars up on the table: red, white, blue, repeat.

  4. Step 4: Fix to the twine

    Fix to the twine

    Tape or glue each star to the twine on the back, about 3 in apart.

  5. Step 5: Hang it

    Hang it

    Drape it across a porch rail, mantel or window.

Edie's tip

Fold the cardstock in half before cutting and you'll get 2 stars with every cut, half the work for sore hands.
