How to make it

Safety

Uncured resin irritates skin and lungs, so wear gloves and a mask, ventilate well, and have a grown-up nearby for your first pour.

  1. Step 1: Set up in fresh air
    1

    Set up in fresh air

Work by an open window with a fan blowing out. Cover the table with a silicone mat.

  2. Step 2: Gear up

    Gear up

Put on gloves, glasses and a mask before opening the resin.

  3. Step 3: Measure exactly
    3

    Measure exactly

Pour the 2 parts in the exact ratio on the label. Wrong ratios stay sticky forever.

  4. Step 4: Stir slowly

    Stir slowly

Stir 3 minutes, scraping the sides. Slow stirring means fewer bubbles.

  5. Step 5: Pour a base layer

    Pour a base layer

Fill each mold 1/3 full. Lay in flowers face down with a toothpick.

  6. Step 6: Top it off
    6

    Top it off

Pour the rest. Pop any bubbles with a toothpick.

  7. Step 7: Cure and finish

    Cure and finish

Leave it 24 to 48 hours. Pop them out and twist in the eye pins and rings.

Edie's tip

Make sure flowers are bone dry. Any moisture turns brown in resin.
