How to make it

Safety

This dough is very salty and not food. Raw flour can make kids sick too. Watch for mouthing, and call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 if they eat a lot.

  1. Step 1: Mix the dry stuff

Stir the flour, salt and spice in the bowl. Let your toddler stir too.

  2. Step 2: Add the wet stuff

  3. Step 3: Knead it

Squeeze and fold it on the counter for 2 minutes. Add a spoonful of flour if it's sticky.

Roll it flat together. Let your toddler press the cutters in.

  5. Step 5: Squish it

    Squish it

Mash it all back into a ball and start over. That's the best part.

  6. Step 6: Store it

    Store it

Keep it in a zipper bag. It lasts about 1 week.

Edie's tip

Pumpkin pie spice gives the smell without any oils. That's all the scent you need.
