How to make it

Safety

Soap stings eyes, so blow away from faces and rinse with water if it splashes.

  1. Step 1: Mix the solution
    1

    Mix the solution

Stir the water, soap and glycerin slowly. Don't whip it into foam.

  2. Step 2: Let it rest
    2

    Let it rest

Leave it for 1 hour if you can. Rested solution makes stronger bubbles.

  3. Step 3: Bend the wands
    3

    Bend the wands

Twist pipe cleaners into circles, hearts, stars and triangles with a handle.

  4. Step 4: Dip and blow
    4

    Dip and blow

Dip a wand, lift it out slowly and blow gently. Or wave it through the air.

  5. Step 5: Test the shapes
    5

    Test the shapes

Look closely. Every bubble comes out round, even from a star wand. A round shape holds air with the least soap skin.

Edie's tip

Bubbles last longer on cloudy, damp days. Dry wind pops them fast.
