How to make it

Safety

Keep sequins and buttons away from any younger siblings under 3.

  1. Step 1: Paint the sticks

    Paint the sticks

Paint all 4 sticks white or blue on one side. Let them dry for about 15 minutes.

  2. Step 2: Make a plus sign
    2

    Make a plus sign

Lay 2 sticks in a plus shape. Put a dot of tacky glue where they cross and press for a slow count of 10.

  3. Step 3: Add the X

    Add the X

Glue the other 2 sticks on top in an X shape. Now you have 8 points, like a star.

  4. Step 4: Decorate the points

    Decorate the points

Glue sequins, buttons or glitter along each stick. Keep the middle simple so it does not get heavy.

  5. Step 5: Let it dry flat

    Let it dry flat

Leave it on wax paper for 1 hour. It will look wobbly until the glue sets. Normal.

    Tie on a loop

Tie a string around one point and knot it. Hang it on the tree or in a window.

Edie's tip

Tacky glue grabs faster than school glue. If you only have school glue, hold each joint with a clothespin while it dries.
