How to make it

Heating the flour kills germs found in raw flour. It is still not food, so watch for big mouthfuls.

  1. Step 1: Heat the flour

Grown-up step: Microwave the flour in 30 second bursts, stirring each time, until it hits 165°F.

  2. Step 2: Cool it

    Cool it

Let it cool fully. Spread it out in the bin to speed it up.

  3. Step 3: Add the oil
    3

    Add the oil

Pour in the oil. Let your toddler squish it in with their hands.

  4. Step 4: Test it

    Test it

Squeeze a handful. It should hold a shape, then crumble when poked.

    Play

Hand over cups and spoons. Pack, dump and make snowballs.

Edie's tip

Pack it into a small cup, flip it over, and let them knock down the snow castle.
