How to make it

Safety

Googly eyes are choking hazards for kids under 3.

  1. Step 1: Wrap the fork
    1

    Wrap the fork

Wrap yarn around the fork tines about 60 times. More wraps make a fuller pom-pom.

  2. Step 2: Tie the middle
    2

    Tie the middle

Slide a short piece of yarn through the middle gap of the fork. Tie it tight around the bundle with a double knot.

  3. Step 3: Slide it off
    3

    Slide it off

Slide the bundle off the fork.

  4. Step 4: Cut the loops
    4

    Cut the loops

Snip through all the loops on both sides.

  5. Step 5: Fluff and trim
    5

    Fluff and trim

Fluff it up and trim into a round ball. Messy is okay for monsters.

  6. Step 6: Make it a monster

    Make it a monster

Glue on 1, 2 or 5 eyes, felt horns and a felt mouth.

Edie's tip

Tie the middle knot as tight as you can. A loose knot lets the pom-pom fall apart.
