How to make it

Safety

Keep loose beads away from little brothers and sisters under 3, since they're a choking hazard.

  1. Step 1: Measure the wrist
    1

    Measure the wrist

Wrap the cord around the wrist and add 3 in. Cut it there.

  2. Step 2: Stop the end
    2

    Stop the end

Tape 1 end to the table so beads can't slide off.

  3. Step 3: Plan the word
    3

    Plan the word

Lay the letters out in order on a towel. Check the spelling twice.

  4. Step 4: String the beads
    4

    String the beads

Add 2 to 3 in of color beads, the word, then match the other side.

  5. Step 5: Stretch the cord
    5

    Stretch the cord

Pull the cord gently a few times before tying. It keeps the bracelet from loosening later.

  6. Step 6: Knot it
    6

    Knot it

Tie a square knot, then another. Dab it with glue and let it dry 5 minutes.

Edie's tip

Slide the knot inside a bead with a hole big enough to hide it.
