Set the stone under the loop. Pinch them together with your fingers.

  3. Step 3: Wrap downward

Wind the long wire around the stone in a loose spiral. Cross the front and back.

  4. Step 4: Wrap back up
    4

    Wrap back up

Spiral back up to the loop on the other angle so it forms a cage.

  5. Step 5: Lock the end
    5

    Lock the end

Coil the end around the base of the loop 3 times. Snip and press the tip flat.

  6. Step 6: Add the chain

    Add the chain

Open a jump ring sideways with both pliers. Hook it through the loop and the chain, then close it.

Edie's tip

Wiggle the stone. If it moves, add another wrap.
