How to make it

Safety

Hot glue still burns at low temp, so keep a bowl of cool water nearby for fingertips.

  1. Step 1: Pick the focal spot
    1

    Pick the focal spot

Decide where the flowers will cluster, like the lower left third. An off-center bunch looks more styled than a full circle.

  2. Step 2: Make small bundles
    2

    Make small bundles

Group 3 to 5 stems together and wrap the base with floral wire. Make 8 to 10 bundles.

  3. Step 3: Lay in the eucalyptus
    3

    Lay in the eucalyptus

Tuck the longest eucalyptus stems into the vines first. They set the shape.

  4. Step 4: Add the bundles
    4

    Add the bundles

Push each bundle into the vines, all pointing the same direction. Wire any loose ones to the wreath.

  5. Step 5: Fill the gaps
    5

    Fill the gaps

Glue single strawflowers into gaps to add color. Use a little glue on each.

  6. Step 6: Hang it
    6

    Hang it

Loop ribbon or wire through the back and hang it. Turn it a few times before deciding which side is up.

Edie's tip

Hang it on a covered porch or inside. Rain and direct sun fade dried flowers fast.
