    Paint the back side

Lay a leaf vein side up on scrap paper. Brush on a thin, even coat of fabric paint.

  3. Step 3: Press it on

Roll over it once with the brayer, pressing evenly. Lift the leaf straight up.

  5. Step 5: Repeat around the napkin

    Repeat around the napkin

Print a few more leaves in different colors. Use a fresh coat of paint each time.

  6. Step 6: Heat-set the paint

    Heat-set the paint

Let them dry 24 hours. Iron each print on the back, no steam, for the time on the paint label.

Edie's tip

Print a test on a scrap of fabric first. Too much paint fills in the veins and you lose the detail.
