How to make it

Microwave the cubes in the jug in 30 second bursts, stirring between, until fully melted.

  3. Step 3: Add the botanicals
    3

    Add the botanicals

Sprinkle a pinch of petals or oats into each mold.

  4. Step 4: Pour the soap
    4

    Pour the soap

Wearing oven mitts, pour soap into the molds.

  5. Step 5: Pop the bubbles
    5

    Pop the bubbles

Spritz the top with rubbing alcohol. The bubbles vanish.

  6. Step 6: Let it harden
    6

    Let it harden

Leave it 1 hour, then press the bars out of the molds.

Edie's tip

Wrap bars in plastic wrap once they're out of the mold. Glycerin soap gets beads of sweat on it in humid air.
