How to make it
1Make a slipknot
Tie a loose slipknot about 6 in from the yarn end. That's your first loop.
2Chain the first row
Pull a loop of yarn through the last loop, over and over, until you have 25 loops in a line. Keep each loop about 2 in tall.
3Start row 2
Go back to the start. Pull a new loop of the working yarn up through the first loop of row 1.
4Keep going across
Pull a loop through every loop in the row. Each new loop sits on top of the old one.
5Join new skeins
Tie the end of the old skein to the new one with a tight double knot. Tuck the knot to the back.
6Repeat the rows
Keep adding rows until it's as long as you want. Keep the tension even so the edges stay straight.
7Bind off
On the last row, pull loop 2 through loop 1, then loop 3 through loop 2, all the way across. Knot the final loop.
8Hide the tails
Weave the yarn tails into the back of the blanket. Throw it on the couch and climb under.
Work on a bed instead of your lap. The weight of the blanket pulls rows crooked if it hangs.
